Sales Honest Dealerships: It Ain't Easy Being Sleazy
Posted by carsandtrucks on Friday, April 04 @ 08:21:30 PDT

The task of going out and purchasing a car or truck can cause anxiety to many a vehicle buyer. Next to your house, the purchase of transportation is the largest purchase you will ever make. Many a vehicle owner has an emotional connection to their vehicle, even naming them names like Old Betsy or Woolybugger. This emotional connection just increases the anxiety when it is time to shop. It does not have to be that way. The reality is there are more honest new and used car dealers then sleazy ones. In fact it is

rarely the dealership that practices the scam, but the salesperson looking to pad his commission. Dealerships today depend on your overall satisfaction with both the sales and service you receive so that you will recommend them to your family and friends. The auto business is very competitive and the smart dealers know that negative customer feedback can destroy their business. So how do you find the dealership that will treat you with respect and not take advantage of you? You can start by searching for and inquiring about the vehicle you want to buy on the internet. The way a dealer handles your internet inquiry is indicative of how you will be treated at the dealership. Next ask your friends and family what kind of buying experience they had. Ask them to refer you to the salesperson they bought from if they had a good experience. You can also check out a dealership’s standings with the better business bureau, or state attorney general’s office online. After you have done your research, visit the dealerships that you found to your liking. Once you are there and greeted by a salesperson, it should not take you long to size him/her up. If there is anything that doesn’t feel right then leave. There are plenty of dealerships within a quick drive of your home or office. It doesn’t hurt to look at them all. Remember that the dealership needs you more then you need them so you never have to settle for shoddy treatment. In this day and time, there is no place for the bad apples to hide. Today’s consumer has more information and resources available to them then ever before. This means you are less likely to be scammed when buying a car or truck, than you would have been in the past. And that is why I say it ain’t easy being sleazy.
