Service Accessories: Styled Wheels & Chrome Rims
Posted by carsandtrucks on Tuesday, March 25 @ 13:32:13 PDT

There is nothing that adds more appeal to your car or truck then a set of designer wheels or rims. Chrome and alloy wheels are the eye candy that brings attention to your ride. The most difficult part of dressing up your vehicle with wheels is which style to purchase. If you Google styled wheels or rims, chrome wheels, or any number of variations, the list of vendors is pages long. You can purchase wheels in the exact

size that is currently on your vehicle. This eliminates the need to replace the tires. If you chose to go with a larger size wheel (most popular on trucks) you will need to purchase matching tires. There are several wheel and tire companies that sell packaged styled wheels and tires. I like this packaged approach because when you receive your purchased package they tires are mounted and balanced to the wheel. Many of the vendors I researched provide this tire to wheel mounting and balancing at no charge. If you find the purchase of a new set of wheels to be beyond your budget and you still want to the styled look, you can paint your current wheels to give them an individual look. Many automobile manufacturers have alloy wheels on their products. The problem is everyone that is driving that model has the same wheels. To make your wheels personal remove the tires from the rim, thoroughly clean the rim and prep the wheel for paint. Be certain to use a high quality primer. Painting on several light layers of paint will produce a longer lasting product then a single heavy application. Finish off with a clear coat and you have protection from stone chips and the like. Painted wheels can match or contrast the color of the car or truck. The look of your wheels is only limited by your imagination.
